Favorite Motown Album
Beyond Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, I wonder what peoples' favorite Motown album is? I have a three-way tie: Eddie Kendricks' People Hold On, Stevie Wonder's Talking Book and Surrender by Diana Ross

As David says - "beyond What's going on" - it has to be Let's get it on -then dead heat, InnerVisions /Talking Book.I know this takes me outside the Top 3,but for door-opening and nostalgia reasons - the compliations Hitsville USA and Motown Magic.Wonderful memories and a joy forever.

I can get all those albums being listed, but for me, I am a group soul junkie, and Motown is not my favorite type of soul music, simply because of the "poppyness" of most of the acts. Having said that, my favorite album from the label is "California Sunset" By The Originals... hands down!! From start to finish it's a soulful paradise to the ears, mind and soul. Much more less known as the acts/albums listed on this thread, but thats what I love... the lesser known, under the rug albums/groups that stray from the flow of everyone else.
